Thoughts

Without love, what is there?
Without freedom of speech and inquiry
how can one find the truth?

One definition of love is:

"Love is patient, is kind; Love is not jealous, nor boastful, nor arrogant; Love is not rude, nor self-centered, neither is Love quickly provoked, does not reckon evil, nor does Love rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth; Love forgives all wrongs, believes all that is good, hopes for the good of all, endures all, for Love never fails." [1Corinthians 13:4-8 (BCB)]

You and I are not there yet, but we should move in the direction of harmony.

Importance of Freedom of Speech

"All silencing of discussion is an assumption of infallibility ... But the peculiar evil of  silencing the expression of opinion is, that it is robbing the human race ... If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth; if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error." [John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, Chapter 2]

Any State or person on earth who denies us the freedom of speech assumes “infallibility.” No one is infallible except the universal Power, aka -- God.

* “If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind."
Thomas Paine
